Mahjong yaku list
Every yaku from 1 han to yakuman. Han values are listed separately for closed hands and hands with calls. The numbers come from the same code the game itself uses, so they always match what you see when you win.
The five to learn first
These five will carry almost any hand to a win. Look the rest up when they come along.
- Riichi(リーチ)— Declare with a closed, ready hand and pay a 1,000-point stick — the most common yaku in the game.
- All simples(タンヤオ)— A hand with no terminals and no honours — the easiest yaku to build, open or closed.
- White dragon(ハク)— Three white dragons, worth 1 han — and you may call for them.
- Pinfu(ピンフ)— Four runs, a valueless pair and a two-sided wait — the hand that scores no extra fu.
- Half flush(ホンイツ)— One suit plus honours — 3 han closed, 2 when open.

Dora is not a yaku
Dora, red fives, ura dora and North dora add han but are not yaku. A hand of nothing but dora cannot win, so you always need one real yaku.

How many are there?
This site judges 45 yaku, not counting dora.
Each yaku has its own page with the conditions, an example hand and a board to try it on.
