What is Pinfu (ピンフ)?
Four runs, a valueless pair and a two-sided wait — the hand that scores no extra fu.

How it is formed
- The hand must be closed and all four sets must be runs.
- The pair must not be a dragon, the round wind or your seat wind.
- The wait must be two-sided. Meet all three and you have pinfu.
Example hand
Winning with this shape gives the following.
- Yaku scored：Pinfu・Menzen tsumo
- Fu：20 fu／2 han
- Points for this example：2,100 points（Tsumo）

Questions
How many han is Pinfu?
1 han with a closed hand. Pinfu does not count once you call.
Does Pinfu count on an open hand?
No. It only counts on a closed hand.
Does a closed wait count for pinfu?
No. Closed waits, edge waits and single waits all earn 2 fu, which breaks the pinfu condition.
