Three players means places, not just a winner

Two players gives you a win or a loss, and not much room in between. Three gives you a middle place, and a middle place changes how the last few cards are played. President makes the most of this: even in a hand you clearly cannot win, there is still second place worth playing for.

Sevens gets easier to read with three, because when someone is sitting on a card there is only one other person it could be. Count the passes around the table and you can usually work out who it is. That turns a guess into a real decision, which is what makes the three-handed game worth playing rather than merely possible.

While you wait for the third

Two of you can start right now by leaving the third seat as a CPU, rather than waiting around for somebody who may be twenty minutes away. When the third person arrives, hand the seat over from the next round.

The host chooses how strong the CPU plays in the party settings. Set it low when somebody is still learning and the same Party works for everyone. The setting covers every CPU seat at once rather than one at a time, and it can be changed between rounds without breaking the party up.

How to choose

If you want something quick, start with a shorter game.
For a slower, face-to-face game, try one of the board games.
For a game you have not played before, try the CPU once before inviting a friend. It goes faster that way.
Even in the same room, everyone should use their own device.

Can two people play on the same device?

The game assumes one device per person. Even in the same room, each person should enter the code on their own device to join the same party.

Can I play with someone far away?

Yes. Send an invite link, and the other person can join just by opening it in a browser.

Is it free to play?
